Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital Renamed to Central California Rehabilitation Hospital
Bakersfield Rehabilitation Hospital, located in Bakersfield, Calif., has been renamed to Central California Rehabilitation Hospital. The 50-bed medical rehabilitation hospital is part of Ernest Health and provides specialized rehabilitative care to patients recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions.
“The name change was made to more accurately reflect our reach and service area,” says Shayne Perkovich, CEO of Central California Rehabilitation Hospital. “The number of patients we have served since opening in 2022 has grown substantially; we now have treated more than 1,500 patients in the community. We serve patients from areas as far away as Los Angeles County, Tulare County, and Ventura County. We feel our new name better provides clarity to the communities we serve.”
Central California Rehabilitation Hospital treats patients who are recovering from injuries or illnesses such as strokes, brain injuries, spinal injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic conditions, amputations, chronic medical conditions, and more. Services include physical, occupational, and speech therapy; rehabilitative nursing; respiratory therapy; dietary services; case management; pharmacy services; social work services; pain management; and other specialized care. A physician-led interdisciplinary healthcare team works with patients and family members to create individualized treatment plans to maximize recoveries. Patients are offered the latest in rehabilitative technology and equipment to enhance treatment options.
The hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and has been named as one of America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers in 2024 by Newsweek, which identifies the top 300 inpatient physical rehabilitation facilities in the United States.
