Roffelsen Named Regional Vice President for Ernest Health
Ernest Health has announced that Michael Roffelsen has been named Regional Vice President of the organization’s Wisconsin, Ohio, and Indiana markets.
In his role, Roffelsen will support Ernest Health’s hospital CEOs in departmental operations, strategic initiatives, referral development, and overall operational management. The medical rehabilitation hospitals provide specialized rehabilitative care to individuals recovering from disabilities caused by injuries, illnesses, or chronic medical conditions.
“We’re excited to have a leader of Mike’s caliber step into this role at Ernest Health,” says Jake Socha, President and CEO of Ernest Health. “With his deep commitment and strong familiarity with the communities he now serves, we’re confident he will further strengthen our hospitals’ abilities to deliver exceptional rehabilitative care.”
Roffelsen has an extensive background in operations, marketing, sales, and physician recruitment in acute and post-acute care settings, bringing more than 30 years of healthcare leadership experience to his role. Prior to this position, he served as Ernest Health’s Market CEO of Green Bay Rehabilitation Hospital and Rehabilitation Hospital of Northwest Ohio, located in Wisconsin and Ohio, respectively. He also served as the CEO of Green Bay Rehabilitation Hospital, where he successfully led the hospital’s pre-opening operations, including the recruitment of key leadership and medical staff, as well as securing local and state licensing. He helped the hospital establish strong referral networks, enhancing access to specialized rehabilitative care in the region.
Prior to joining Ernest Health, Roffelsen held various leadership roles within multiple hospitals and healthcare systems in Florida and Indiana. He has a proven track record of improving patient outcomes, reducing employee turnover, and enhancing operational efficiencies.
“Having worked in these regions for many years, I look forward to continuing to build strong relationships within the communities we serve,” Roffelsen says. “My focus will remain on ensuring patients have access to the highest quality rehabilitative care so they can maximize their recoveries.”
Roffelsen earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Concordia University in Mequon, Wisc., and a master’s degree in management from Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Ind. When not working, he enjoys traveling to other countries to experience different cultures.
