CORPUS CHRISTI, Tx. —  Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital has begun planning the construction project on a 16-bed expansion, increasing its inpatient capacity from 35 beds to 51—a nearly 46% increase.  Planning has commenced with project completion estimated for mid-year 2027. The hospital provides specialized rehabilitative care for patients recovering from strokes, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, orthopedic injuries, pulmonary disease, debility, and other complex medical conditions.

The project will add two new wings, increasing inpatient capacity and functional treatment space. The expansion also enlarges both inpatient and outpatient therapy gyms, enhancing the rehabilitation environment and allowing CCRH to accommodate more patients efficiently. Outpatient services, including physical, occupational, and speech therapy—will continue uninterrupted, with additional space supporting the growing volume.

CCRH offers a full spectrum of services, including inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation, a Transitional Outcomes Program (TOP), and advanced rehab technologies such as Rise&Walk®, VitalStim® Therapy, and LiteGait®. A physician-led interdisciplinary team works closely with patients and families to create individualized care plans focused on maximizing recovery and independence.
